Getting started in CrossFit is a ton of fun. It may seem intimidating at first, but don’t worry, we can accommodate ALL fitness levels! We definitely won’t have you

lifting heavy weight or or doing any complicated movements on your first days here, because we want you to come back!

We will, however, put you through an awesome, heart pumping workout that will have you sweating and ready to come back the next day for more.

We understand that this type of training may be totally foreign to you, so to help you discover if it is right for you, we’d like to invite you to try it for free by scheduling

a free Intro Session below:

If you like what you see on this site and are ready to get in THE best shape of your life among a community of like-minded individuals, the first step is to schedule your complimentary Intro session.

The purpose of this session is two fold:

  1. For us to assess your current fitness level to see if you are a good ‘fit’ for our community

  2. For you to see what CrossFit is all about and experience your first CrossFit workout in a one-on-one or two-on-one setting.

During this 45 minute session you will also learn about the CrossFit methodology and our specific program at CrossFit 954. Not all CrossFit gyms are the same. We all operate under the general philosophy and methodology of CrossFit, but CrossFit is NOT a franchise so every facility varies as far as class size, demographics, coaching, programming and the general culture and focus of the community.

We want to make sure before you commit to our program that you know exactly what to expect from our program and we want to know that you are as serious about achieving your fitness goals as we are in helping you achieve them.

Once you’ve decided to join the CrossFit 954 community, the next step is to complete Your Kickstart Program which includes THREE private training sessions, a functional movement screen and one nutritional coaching session (optional) (usually completed within a week). Many CrossFit gyms offer these ‘fundamental’ classes in a group setting, but we have found that private training is more efficient, customized and has no scheduling limitations. The confidence you will gain from these Kickstart sessions will make your training less intimidating and much more enjoyable as you become accustomed to our program.

The purpose of these THREE sessions are:

  1. Private training allows us to address your individual needs, deficiencies, weaknesses and injuries. During your kickstart program we will be able to identify and provide alternatives to any movement that could predispose you to injury and compromise your results.

  2. CrossFit is typically a group training program, however, everybody needs to work at their own pace and within their own abilities. The private Kickstart sessions allow us the opportunity teach you the proper execution of the most common CrossFit exercises before you enter the group setting so that you can workout safely and efficiently and so that we can appropriately modify your workouts if necessary.

  3. Whether your goals are general health, weight loss or performance proper nutrition is extremely important and cannot be neglected. This one hour session will identify your nutritional habits that will compromise your results and educate you on how to eat to achieve your goals realistically and healthily. Although this session is optional it is highly recommended.

Once you’ve completed your Kickstart program you will be a ‘master’ the CrossFit movements (that takes time), but you will be familiar enough with the language and execution of the exercises to begin group training. Each day the workout is different but typically consists of: warmup, strength or skill, met-con (aka metabolic conditioning, ‘the meat and potatoes’ of our program), and often a ‘finisher’.

Training time is one hour and classes are mixed levels (Typically 7-12 per class). We accommodate various fitness levels by modifying workouts. Group sessions will always be lead by a coach who will instruct and ensure that proper exercise technique is maintained.  The job of the coach is to safely challenge you and help you to progress towards your goals in a realistic and sustainable manner.

Group sessions will challenge you physically, mentally and even emotionally, but if you are consistent, patient and willing to work hard you will achieve a level of health, fitness and satisfaction that you could never imagine. have nothing to lose and potentially so much to gain!
